Perl Programming

Target Audience:

System administrators who wish to expand their knowledge of scripting to include Perl. Web content developers wishing to use Perl for CGI programs. Developers of applications that involve UNIX system calls and text processing.

Prerequisites:

General programming experience. Shell scripting is helpful. Ability to use a text editor and to maneuver in the file system.

 

Format:

Lecture/Lab. Approximately 50% of the class time will involve programming exercises. These exercises involve the usage of the fundamentals of Perl and make use of numerous example Perl programs.

Each student should work alone on a Linux workstation. A classroom network is beneficial.
